Just like my kids get tired of the same old peanut butter and jelly or turkey sandwiches for lunch, I sometimes get in lunch rut too. Having the same thing for lunch everyday sure isn’t exciting, but it can be convenient. This Spicy Steak Salad Flatbread recipe uses one of my favorite mealtime short cuts: frozen bread dough. You can find frozen bread dough in your grocer’s freezer section and it typically comes in white, wheat and other varieties. To make the flatbread, follow the package directions to let the bread dough rise, roll the bread dough into circles and brush with a little melted butter and spices. You could use a variety of different Litehouse Freeze Dried herbs to make the flatbread full of flavor!
Since the weather is warming up, I like to grill and have the leftovers for lunches throughout the week, which saves a lot of time. Grill your steak and flatbread at the beginning of the week for convenience. This is one of those meals you won’t get sick of having several days in a row, or you could come up with several different salads in flatbreads using a combination of different Litehouse® dressings, NatureSweet® tomatoes and Fresh Gourmet® croutons and toppings.
I like to use NatureSweet® Cherubs® in many of my salads. These little bursts of fresh flavor add a touch of sweetness to this otherwise spicy salad. The NatureSweet® Yellow Sunbursts® would be delicious too. Fresh Gourmet® salad toppings are a great way to add variety to plain salads. They have a line of croutons, fruit and nuts, and crunchy toppings. The crispy jalapeños add a delicious crunchy kick to this recipe!
