Here we are, back to school routine again. My family and I were mentioning how September feels a bit like New Years with thoughts of the upcoming school year resolutions. A big one for me this fall will be changing up the lunches. My Son will be joining his older sister when he starts kindergarten so my lunch duties have doubled. I know for a fact my daughter gets quite bored with the same old sandwich and we are a peanut free school so that option is out. My work is cut out for me this year!
We're also trying to be healthier now that holidays are over. Much the same as when January rolls around and December has been an all out binge fest! I've lightened up a traditional club sandwich with using whole wheat wraps, turkey bacon and OPA by Litehouse Ranch Dressing. I adore the OPA dressing line. It's much lower in fat than other dressing or sandwich spreads and transforms a sandwich or wrap into something totally new! The Kalamata Feta dressing is my all time favorite but if the kids were to spot an olive in their sandwich all bets would be off. Ranch is always a safe choice! I used deli smoked turkey, shredded cheddar and romaine lettuce however these wraps are a good way to use up little bits of this and that hanging out in the fridge. Fall is coming so if a turkey or roast is in the future, wraps are a perfect way to use up some leftovers. I had the kids join in making these turkey ranch club wraps. Just the fact they helped make their wraps guarantees they'll eat it come lunch time. They're proud of their delicious accomplishments. Of course bacon also helps in that department!
