Cheddar and Herb Biscuits ready for the oven

There’s just something about this time of year that just screams brunch to me! Perhaps it’s the thought that I’ll soon be able to head out on a Sunday morning to enjoy brunch on a patio with the sun shining in my face. Easter in my family is a pretty big thing and it’s my mom’s favorite holiday (aside from her birthday and Mother’s Day). She loves having our family over and serving up Easter brunch filled with a variety of different dishes.

There are a lot of different directions that you can go with serving brunch at home. You can keep it all breakfast, mostly lunch or a good variety of both. I prefer a variety of both! Here’s my roundup of foods that will help you serve a well rounded Easter brunch:

  • Choose a meat: Since ham seems to be the trend, I recommend a nice spiral cut or honey glazed ham to be the focus on your brunch. You may also want to consider thick-cut bacon or a roast beef if someone doesn’t prefer pork.
  • Bring on the eggs: You can make an easy egg bake or if you’re willing to take a few extra steps go for the quiche! There are a lot of different quiche recipes out there but if you want to play it safe I suggest Quiche Lorraine.
  • Don’t forget the potatoes: Hash browns are probably one of my favorite side dishes for brunch! I love a good hash brown casserole, filled with cheese and other goodness. You can also keep it simple with fried potatoes or whip up some mashed potatoes to go with your ham or roast beef. Desserts: No meal is complete without a dessert! Baked goods are always nice such as cinnamon rolls or light strawberry shortcake.

I also like the option of a yogurt parfait to finish off the meal. The blend of fruit, granola and yogurt is sure to satisfy a sweet tooth and keep things healthier! The last thing that I recommend is a nice bread option to soak up all of these flavors. I like these Cheddar and Herb Biscuits because they are light, fluffy and full of flavor! You can serve these biscuits with a side off butter (although not necessary) or whip up a batch of creamy sausage gravy for an added bonus.

What are some of your favorite Easter Brunch foods?
