Nice gift jar of Litehouse Seasoning Herb Rub

Herbs and spices are essential to flavorful cooking. There are fifteen different Litehouse Freeze Dried Herbs available, so the combination of seasoning rubs for your beef, pork, poultry, and seafood are endless!

I’m all about giving (and receiving!) homemade, thoughtful gifts that don’t cost a lot. With the holiday season upon us, these homemade seasoning rubs are perfect for hostess gifts. This is a great way to re-use your Litehouse herb jars too. You can gift this poultry-seasoning rub along with your own seafood and beef variations. It is pretty fun coming up with the different flavors and layering them in the jars! I love how inexpensive this gift can be. You could even get fancy and print off your own labels and finish off with a pretty ribbon.

Of course you can give these herb rubs as gifts, but I like to have pre-made mixes in my cupboard and I go through them quickly. I use this seasoning herb rub for chicken and turkey. This slow cooker turkey breast recipe is delicious enough for any dinner table during the holidays. Prep time is simple: using some of the pre-made seasoning rub, combined with melted butter makes a delicious, flavorful paste to rub all over the turkey. You’ve got to make sure to get some of the paste underneath the skin too!

Typically you want to cook your chicken and turkey, breast side up in the slow cooker, but I wanted to show you how the paste looks on the turkey before flipping it over. Fill the turkey cavity with lemons or apples, just like you might when you roast a whole turkey in the oven for the holidays. This extra flavoring in the cavity, combined with the seasoning herb rub makes one flavorful turkey! If any of my family and friends are reading this: don’t worry- you will be getting some fresh Litehouse seasoning rubs this year! Happy Holidays!
