Honey Bourbon Cider Cocktail

I’m almost in disbelief that the holiday season is here! Where has this year gone? I am, however, looking forward to more time spent with my family as the holiday season kicks in and cozy nights spent with friends. I find myself spending a lot of time with friends and family during the summer outside but nothing beats a cozy night at home with friends and cocktails! I’m typically a wine kind of girl but my favorite fall drink is a Cider-Bourbon Cocktail.

There are so many delicious seasonal ingredients available in the fall and winter months. Cranberries, apples and even pumpkin pair together nicely with ginger beer, white wine and hard cider to create delicious drinks. I’m not really an expert mixologist but I find that by toying around with different flavors and garnishes can lead to some rather flavorful drinks. Some of my favorites include Apple Cider Sangria, Hot Mulled Cider and Apple Brandy Hot-Toddies. During the fall and winter months Litehouse makes some pretty delicious apple cider blends that are perfect served hot or cold on their own or make great cocktail mixers.

I love that this recipe can be served warm or chilled but I recommend serving it warmed up. The flavors will come together nicely and will surely delight your guests. And who am I kidding, you don’t have to save this drink for your guests. This is also the perfect evening nightcap to enjoy in front of your fireplace on chilly winter nights.

Honey Bourbon Cider Cocktail

Serves 2 | Finish in 10 minutes

Fall flavors and bourbon - the perfect cocktail recipe to warm up during season transitioning.


10 ounces Litehouse Honey Crisp Apple Cider

4 ounces bourbon

1 lady apple, cut in thick slices

2 teaspoon organic, raw honey

¼ teaspoon cinnamon


Place cider, apple slices, honey and cinnamon in a sauce pot, bring to boil and let simmer for 5 minutes, just to release the flavors.

Strain the mixture (saving the apple slices for garnishing) and add bourbon.

Pour into serving glasses and sip warm or chill and serve over ice.
