Easter Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin

Lent is the period of forty days leading up to Easter. Ever since I can remember my family and I and almost everyone I knew gave up something for Lent. This is the Lenten tradition of fasting or giving up a luxury item like pop, candy or TV for forty days. Many people also don’t eat meat on Fridays. There is debate on when Lent officially ends, but many mark Easter Sunday as a joyous day to celebrate and feast, especially on the foods you fasted from.

There is no better way to celebrate Easter, then a delicious home-cooked meal with family. This Apple Pork Tenderloin may not be a traditional Easter Ham, but it is delicious enough to start a new tradition! Did you know pork tenderloin is actually as lean as chicken breast and has less fat and sodium than ham?

This pork and apples dish is cooked in the slow cooker, leaving you with time to prepare other dishes and spend more time with family.  I am usually overwhelmed when cooking for a crowd, so a good slow cooker recipe is just what I need for the holidays. The pairing of apples and pork goes way back. My Grandma has told me stories of her go-to meal for entertaining as boneless pork chops cooked with applesauce. What elevates this pork and apple dish is the Litehouse herbs. A dry rub of Instantly Fresh Sage, Parsley and Ginger add such flavor to the pork. Slow cooking the tenderloin in broth and Fuji Apple Vinaigrette make it deliciously tender. My husband said this was the most tender pork tenderloin he’s ever had!
