Litehouse Foods, the leader in refrigerated salad dressings, and Chef Ann Cooper, known for her mission to help schools serve up fresh, healthy and delicious scratch-cooked meals, have partnered to introduce a healthier salad dressing option for schools: Litehouse and Chef Ann Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing. Litehouse will be donating 1% of sales of the product to the Chef Ann Foundation (CAF).
Schools have made great strides in healthy eating options for kids, with many now offering salad bars, but often the salad dressings are loaded with fat and preservatives. To create an improved ranch product, the number one flavor sold in schools, Litehouse and Chef Ann crafted a new Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing that has no MSG, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) or preservatives. The ranch is Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO)-certified and has only 60 calories per serving and zero sugar. Because it is yogurt-based, the dressing offers full flavor without the fat and 2 grams of protein per serving.
“Tasty dressings encourage students to eat more salad and vegetables, but dressings loaded with fat, sugar, and sodium do more harm than good. That’s why we partnered with Litehouse to create a healthy, yogurt-based ranch dressing. We want to keep salad healthy and delicious with dressing made with healthy, savory ingredients and less junk,” said Chef Ann Cooper.
The new creamy and light Greek Yogurt Ranch comes in two 1-gallon size refrigerated containers and strikes the perfect balance between flavor and health. Its versatility makes it the ideal addition to any school menu, and it’s excellent on chicken tacos, sandwiches, vegetarian enchiladas or simply on a fresh salad. The salad dressing is available for immediate sale, just in time for the new school year.
