Litehouse celebrates the return of Summer with annual Coleslaw promotion

Litehouse, Inc., a 100 percent employee-owned company and the No. 1 Refrigerated Salad Dressing (RSD) brand in the U.S. and Canada[1], is celebrating the summer entertaining season with its annual coleslaw promotion. The three-week promotion supports retailers across the country and highlights the RSD company’s Coleslaw dressing in a classic, easy and delicious two-ingredient coleslaw.

The summer season is all about barbeques and outdoor entertaining, resulting in increased usage occasions for coleslaw. According to IRI data, coleslaw sales peak in June and July, when 50 percent more Coleslaw dressing is sold than any other time of year. The Litehouse retail promotion runs June 17 through July 9 – just in time for Father’s Day and the Fourth of July, two of the most popular grilling occasions[2].

Tapping into consumers’ busy summer schedules and big appetites, the “2 Ingredient Coleslaw” promotion spotlights the ease and versatility of Litehouse Coleslaw dressing. Litehouse will partner with retailers and their bagged coleslaw provider to showcase 1+1 easy coleslaw: combine one bag of slaw mix with one jar of Litehouse Coleslaw dressing, mix together and serve. Coleslaw makes a tasty side dish and adds extra flavor and texture to summer staples like burgers, tacos and fish.

The coleslaw promotion includes an in-store campaign with signage, point-of-sale materials, and promotional two-for-$5 pricing. Supporting consumer initiatives include:

  •  Summer entertaining satellite media tour hosted by a notable lifestyle expert
  • “Summertime Kitchen Hacks” syndicated editorial content
  • Integrated social campaign and consumer sweepstakes running June 13 through July 4 on the Litehouse Facebook page
  • Recipes from bloggers and social influencers
