• Leftover Stuffing Waffles with Bourbon Cranberry Sauce Syrup

    I have to admit, when it comes to holiday turkey dinners, I don’t crave the stuffing – although I’ve been told I make a pretty mean jalapeno-pecan cornbread version. I like stuffing in theory, but by the time I’ve made it through the family buffet line, there is very little room left on my plate for the sad soggy center mess that remains. So, I take a pass.

  • Cheddar Ranch Shephard’s Pie Mini Muffins

    The fall temperatures have definitely set in here in Wisconsin and while I love summer, I’m welcoming the change with open arms. I’ve been using my grill less and less and finding myself pulling out my slow cooker more and more. Grilled cheeseburgers now turn to cheeseburger casserole and now is about the time that I start putting on my winter weight. Ugh. Yes, I know the cycle and this year I’m trying to do things differently with my diet. I’m switching to all things miniature like these Cheddar Ranch Shepherd’s Pie Muffins.

  • Caramel Apple Cupcakes

    I’m almost in disbelief that the holiday season is already upon us! Life around here has turned from grilling and outdoor dining to comfort food and caramel. Lots of caramel. With the exception of a vacation recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time in my kitchen lately testing out new desserts that feature one of my favorite fall flavors: caramel. There’s just something about fall that draws me to this delicious treat, as I look to drizzle it on everything in sight.
