Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. My house is thoroughly decorated both inside and out, and you’ll find me sharing ghoulish treats both on my blog and in real life all month long. I’m so excited to share my recipe for 8 Layer Jalapeño Ranch & Guacamole Spider Dip. It brings together two of my very favorite Litehouse products; Litehouse® Guacamole Herb Blend and Litehouse® Jalapeno Ranch. It gives the traditional 7 layer dip an extra kick and the “cob web” and olive spiders on top make it that much more fun for Halloween.

How do you make 8 Layer Jalapeño Ranch & Guacamole Spider Dip

Making this recipe takes a few steps. First you will want to make the guacamole using Litehouse® Guacamole Herb Blend. Once your guac is finished set it to the side. Next,  I like to use a pie plate or something that is round. I’ll start my adding the layers; refried beans, then a layer of sour cream, followed by a layer of diced tomatoes. Top the tomatoes with a layer of shredded cheese, followed by well drained salsa. This is key to ensure you do not end up with a soupy mess of a dip!

Next, pour on the Litehouse® Jalapeno RanchTop with shredded iceberg lettuce and last homemade guacamole.

The next part is where you have to get a little artsy. Place a few tablespoons of the Litehouse® Jalapeno Ranch in a ziplock baggie. Cut off a tiny corner of the baggy. Pipe on a web; starting with a small circle in the center, then two larger circles. Add lines to create the web effect.

Next slice the olives in half lengthwise. Reserve 3 half olives to use as the “body” then cut “legs” for the spiders. Add the legs to the dip first then top with the “body” larger olive. I found that 8 legs was a bit too much for the olive body to handle. That’s why I went with 6. I know that spiders have 8 legs, but it just wasn’t practical. Once your dip is done you can serve it with your favorite brand of tortilla chips.

If you love Halloween like I do and looking for a fun appetizer to bring to a Halloween party. I hope you’ll give this recipe for 8 Layer Jalapeño Ranch & Guacamole Spider Dip a try.
