Rustic Apple Puff Pastry with Caramel Sauce

Serves 8 | Finish in 1 hour

This free-form pastry is a typical French dessert, with a no-fuss crust, filling and sauce.

1 puff pastry sheet
1 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lbs. green apples (about 5, peeled, cored & cut into wedges)
4 Tbsp. sugar, divided
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup crème fraiche, sour cream or ice cream
1/2 cup Litehouse® Old Fashioned Caramel
Or any of the following:
Litehouse® Low Fat Caramel
Litehouse® Butterscotch Caramel Dip

Preheat oven to 350°. Thaw puff pastry. For filling, melt butter in large nonstick skillet. Add apples and 3 Tbsp. sugar. Sauté until apples are golden and begin to soften (about 8 minutes). Add dried cranberries and cinnamon. Remove from heat and cool completely. Roll out puff pastry on baking sheet covered with parchment paper to approximately 12" circle. Arrange apple mixture atop pastry, leaving 3" border. Fold edge of dough over the edge of the apple mixture. This will be very free-form. Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. sugar. Bake 15 minutes. Increase oven temperature to 375 degrees and bake an additional 30 minutes, until pastry is golden around edges. Warm 1/2 cup Litehouse® caramel dip in the microwave for 1 minute. Drizzle on pastry. Serve warm with crème fraiche, sour cream or ice cream and additional warmed Litehouse® caramel dip. Serves 8
