The classic green bean casserole is revamped using fresh green beans and no canned soups. With chopped jalepeños for a little kick and the classic French fried onions for crunch, this recipe is better than the original!
7-8 cups diced fresh green beans
2 jalapeños deseeded and chopped
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp flour
½ cup Litehouse® Jalapeño Ranch Dressing
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1-cup French fried onions
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
Preheat oven to 350. Wash and dice fresh green beans and boil for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan and whisk in the flour. Add the milk and dressing to the saucepan and whisk the mixture for a few minutes over medium heat until it becomes a gravy-like consistency. Drain the green beans and sprinkle with ½ tsp salt. Add the green beans to a 9x13 pan and toss with the gravy mixture. Top the green bean casserole with the cheese and fried onions. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
