Honey Broiled Grapefruit with Lemongrass and Basil
If you’ve never enjoyed grapefruit caramelized under the broiler, you’ve been missing out! This quick and low-cal fruit dessert is exceptionally tasty and uses honey (you can substitute brown sugar) and spices to create a crust that locks in the fruit’s natural juices.
Ingredients
1 large grapefruit
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon Instantly Fresh lemon grass
½ teaspoon Instantly Fresh basil
½ teaspoon coarse sea salt
Directions
Wash grapefruit and slice in halve crosswise; remove any visible seeds. Place halves cut side up on rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with 1 tablespoon honey over each. Sprinkle tops of grapefruit with lemon grass, basil and sea salt. Broil on high for approximately 5 minutes, or until juices are bubbling up and sugars are caramelizing – watch carefully to prevent burning. Remove from oven and enjoy.
