Baked Caramel Apple Cider Donuts

Serves 6 | Finish in 30 minutes

Fresh apples and a cake donut batter create a delicious baked fall donut.


1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup apple cider
1/4 cup apple sauce
1 Tbsp canola oil
½ cup petite diced apples
1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup Litehouse® Old Fashioned Caramel
¼ cup Powdered Sugar
2-3 Tbsp heavy cream
Recommended toppings such as sprinkles pecans and/or caramel dip


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Generously grease a 6 cup donut pan and set to the side. In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt. In a separate bowl combine the maple syrup, apple cider, applesauce, oil, vanilla, and apples. Gently mix the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients. Divide the batter evenly amongst the 6 donut cups and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before decorating. Mix together the Litehouse® Old Fashioned Caramel, powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth. Gently ice the donuts and use additional sprinkles or nuts as toppings.
