Freshly Served Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger

The summer temperatures are heating up and the only thing on my mind is grilling burgers and sipping on an ice-cold brew. Every summer I look forward to trying new burger combinations! This burger combines salty and sweet flavors for a mouthwatering taste in every bite.

If you’re a blue cheese fan and you’ve never tried it on a freshly grilled burger than you’re missing out. Litehouse Simply Artisan Blue Cheese Crumbles offer a nutty and sharp flavor with a creamy finish and it melts perfectly on grilled burgers. To create an even creamier texture, I topped the burger first with freshly made aioli. Making a homemade aioli is super simple and all you need to do is combine egg yolks in a food processor along with olive oil, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Presto, homemade aioli! It’s even great as a side with sweet potato fries!

Breaking down the layers of this burger you’ll find different flavors that complement each other. The salty bacon and blue cheese work together with the fig jam for a sweet finish. The aioli offers a creaminess to the cheese and the arugula offers a peppery aftertaste. If you’re every playing around with flavor combinations for burgers, look for flavors that work hand in hand to create a partnership. Salty, peppery, sweet, creamy and crunchy are some of my favorites to look for when I’m piling things high on my burgers.

Celebrate the summer with this delicious Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger and don’t forget to pair it with an ice-cold beer on a hot day. If you’re new to blue cheese, give this burger a try and never look back!
