Skinny Southwestern Chicken Roll Ups

The season of football, holidays, and family get-togethers is here, which also means those of us living a healthy lifestyle will be tempted with bacon-wrapped everything, gravy boats, and delicious pies. These “skinny” roll ups are not filled with several containers of cream cheese as many recipes call for, but taste just as creamy. Litehouse herbs bring the flavor without all of the added calories. I like to make these chicken roll ups primarily for parties, but they are great for an after school snack.

It is definitely hard to navigate the holidays when living (or trying to live) a healthy lifestyle and that may be why we see many new years resolutions having to do with diets! These are my top three tips to help you resist temptation during the holiday season.
- Moderation is key. I’m a big believer in moderation as a number one tool to live a healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to deny yourself a piece of that pumpkin pie, just make it a smaller portion!
- Add those fruits, veggies and greens! In past years, I have been guilty of having the Thanksgiving turkey as the main component of my plate. Fill up on those fruit and veggie trays along with a nice, green salad. You can still have the beloved turkey, but it just goes back to number one: moderation.
- Bring a dish. Bringing a lighter version of a dish means you don’t have any excuses to not make better choices. These Skinny Southwestern Chicken wraps get their creaminess from Greek yogurt, which is high in protein!
Many dishes that include cream cheese or sour cream can be made lighter by using Greek yogurt in their place. Remember to use your favorite Litehouse herbs (I used the Litehouse jalapenos and cilantro to add extra flavor without the added calories and fat.)
