Preparing a batch of Refreshing Lemon, Ginger and Mint Ice Cubes

There’s nothing more refreshing than an icy cup of water on a hot summer day. Liven up your water with these mint, lemon and ginger ice cubes. Not only are they a refreshing addition to a glass of water, they are the perfect special touch for entertaining. The possibilities of fruit and herb combinations are endless. Try fresh strawberries and basil or blackberries and dried mint or whatever fruits are in season.

There are many different opinions on how much water you should be drinking per day. Eight ounces has been the general rule ever since I can remember, but there’s no magic formula for everyone. Your activity level and health should be taken into consideration when determining how much water you should drink each day. Lemon water is known to have its health benefits. Did you know that it could reduce inflammation, aid digestion, fight hunger cravings and cleanse your system among other benefits? (Check out ABC News’ piece on the benefits of lemon water!) Ginger has just as good of a reputation as a health aide, with a long history of use in relieving digestive issues. I keep Litehouse Freeze Dried Herbs on hand because I use the herbs in almost every meal. They have so much versatility and aren’t just for savory recipes. The Freeze Dried Basil, Mint and Ginger are delicious with fruit and in desserts.

These mint, lemon and ginger ice cubes are so easy to make. You could even use them in cocktails and other refreshing drinks.

Like I said before, I am just amazed at the versatility of Litehouse freeze dried herbs and I love keeping them on hand.
