Raspberry Walnut Goat Cheese Appetizer

I often find myself entertaining during the summer, inviting friends and family over to my patio for grilled meals and delicious appetizers. I tend to go with easy appetizers like chips and dips so that I can put my focus more on the mail course but decided to experiment a bit with cheeses recently to mix things up. The result was the most delicious Raspberry Walnut Goat Cheese Appetizer.

I never would have thought to use salad dressing on cheese but found that really any vinaigrette works well when drizzled on a soft cheese and then serving it alongside of bread or crackers. I’ve always been a fan of the sweet and savory taste of Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette from Litehouse but never would have thought of using it on anything other than a fresh summer salad. It really turns a plain cut of goat cheese into an extraordinary appetizer!

This five-minute appetizer could not be any easier: plate the cut of goat cheese, drizzle on the dressing and serve it with some toasted walnuts. Oh, and don’t forget the wine! I suggest a light and fruity Sauvignon Blanc. I served this with toast points and crackers and decorated with a few sprigs of fresh thyme. It was the easiest appetizer and my friends were surely impressed.

Walnut and Goat Cheese Appetizer with Raspberry Vinaigrette Recipe

Serves 4-6 | Finish in 10 minutes

Pair a plain piece of goat cheese with a drizzle of Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette to create an impressive appetizer!


6 ounces plain goat cheese, room temperature

½ cup whole walnuts, toasted

2-3 tablespoons Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing

Toasted bread and crackers for serving


Plate the goat cheese on a serving board or platter. Drizzle with Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing and serve with walnuts and toasted bread and/or crackers.
