Here’s how it’s done:

The base of our bright and flavorful cheeseball relies on silky cream cheese and savory flavor pops from Litehouse® Simply Artisan Blue Cheese. Mixing gets a bit easier if you let the cream cheese soften up. Room temperature cream cheese is best, but you can make the cheeseball with cold cream cheese too, it just takes a bit more elbow grease to combine thoroughly.

A bit of bright lemon zest brings a nice hit of acid to your holiday cheeseball. Acid is important for cutting through the creamy cheeses to help the blue cheese flavor shine. Finally, minced scallions heighten the savory flavors and add some satisfying crunch.

On the subject of crunch, no cheeseball would be complete without a beautiful dressing. We roll our quick cheeseball in crunchy toasted pecans and sweet-tart dried cranberries. Blue Cheese Holiday Ball Recipe

The holidays are a time to come together with family and friends over delicious food. But entertaining doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Take the stress out of hosting with this centerpiece-worthy 10-minute cheese ball made with Litehouse® Simply Artisan Blue Cheese Center Cut.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Litehouse® Simply Artisan Blue Cheese Center Cut
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 
  • 3 scallions, minced
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1½ tsp lemon zest (from half a lemon)
  • ¼ cup toasted walnut halves, chopped
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries

Directions

  1. Combine the blue cheese, cream cheese, scallions, salt and lemon zest in a mixing bowl until fully combined.
  2. Spread the chopped walnuts and cranberries out on a large plate.
  3. Use clean hands to form the cheese mixture into a ball. Transfer the ball to the plate with the walnuts and cranberries and roll to coat the cheese fully. Serve with crackers.
