Easy Autumn Dessert - Caramel Crunch Apple Nachos Recipe

What are your favorite things to do during the fall season? Our family rituals of autumn include taking the kids to the pumpkin patch, raking piles of leaves to jump in, and cheering on our favorite football teams. Of course, all the glorious food around this time of year plays a big role in the enjoyment and memory-making of my season. I look forward to everything from simply wrapping my hands around a warm mug of apple cider to spending the day making pies, baked goodies and other sweet treats for the holidays.

While I can spare a few hours on the weekend for a binge bake-a-thon, typically our busy family schedule doesn’t allow for making a decadent dessert on a weeknight – although I’m certain we could somehow find the time to devour one! Plus, since the kids, hubby and I like to stay lean and mean for our various sporting activities, I usually don’t offer a big sugary dessert with our meal – however, I do believe an indulgence every now and then is a perfectly acceptable and deserved part of a healthy lifestyle with exercise.

Ingredients Ingredients

Giving into the strong urge for fall baking and making last week, I came up with this super, quick and easy dessert made with autumn-inspired ingredients – Caramel Crunch Apple Nachos! My kids didn’t believe that nachos could be a sweet treat, but they were willing to test out my impromptu and unusual dessert idea. Along with my husband, they gobbled up the whole plate of dessert nachos, never once realizing that they just ate something pretty darn healthy and dear mom didn’t spend a couple hours slaving over the recipe. It was a win-win for everyone!   If you want to make this four-ingredient, no-cook dessert, you may already have the fixings in your pantry - prepared caramel dip, store-bought granola, apples (any variety), and mini chocolate chips. Within five minutes, any hungry, dessert-loving crowd will be noshing on gooey sweet fruit nachos. This healthy recipe is the perfect way to end weeknight meals, tailgate gatherings, and fall holiday parties. It’s also simple enough for the kids to put together if you help with the apple slicing. Enjoy!
