Lunchtime treat of All Star Power Up Snack Kabobs

Most folks think that football season is just now arriving, for Football Moms across the states we all know the truth. The football season began weeks ago. Yes it’s true. For weeks now we’ve been hauling our young men, and all of their gear, to a practice field where we sit and bake in the sun while watching our teams get ready for the game season. While it is quite the commitment from the parents and coaches who make it to every practice, I sit in amazement while I watch my son tough it out through drills in the blazing Texas heat. He is so much tougher than I ever imagined a child could be, I’m so proud to be his Mom! Now that school has started the poor kid is completely exhausted before he even makes it to his sweat bath, a.k.a football practice.

While I can’t protect my kids with a dome made of bubble wrap and a traveling AC unit, I can make good and sure that their bodies are ready to expend massive amounts of energy while participating in sports. My All Star Power Up Snack Kabobs provide high energy and nutrition while staying away from chemical filled high sugar ingredients typically found in sports products. Plus they look great! What kid wouldn’t love to chow down on these fun snacks on the way to practice?

Spinach tortillas are rolled up with plenty of high protein turkey meat and Litehouse Ranch. I use high water content vegetables on my Snack Kabobs because dehydration is the enemy; we have plenty of enemies in football. This is one I can defeat before the whistles even blow. Plenty of cucumbers and tomatoes will help hydrate without weighing the kiddos down. A heavy meal before practice can lead to loss of meal during practice if you know what I mean. Not pretty, let’s try to keep it light and nutritious shall we?

The cheese stars are simply for fun and the extra calories they provide from just a star or two can make all the difference in providing that last push of energy during the last drill. I love the last drill of the day; it’s always my favorite one. While I still can’t watch my son practice tackling without cringing and losing my breath I can rest assured that he is well prepared for practice with healthy and nutritious power foods. Litehouse’s Greek Yogurt products insure they taste great every time, which means I don’t have to fight my kids to get them to eat it!

We can’t help them out on the field but we can give our footballers a healthy advantage while keeping them strong enough to fight the fight. Now get on out there and Go Big Red!!
