Preparing potatoes for Spiralized Sweet Potato Skillet

Spiralized vegetables were recently named one of the top food trends to help you eat healthier in 2016. If you haven’t already, you will see more of these spiralized veggies showing up on restaurant menus and in salad bars this year. Transforming vegetables into noodle-like form allows you to cut out down the calories and get more nutrients in your diet, plus it’s just more fun to eat veggies this way!

3 Tools To Turn Veggies Into Noodles

1.Julienne Peeler: You might already have this tool in your kitchen. The easiest vegetable to turn into noodles with a ju is zucchini. Try this this Chicken Bacon Ranch Zoodle Recipe!

2.Handheld Spiralizer: This tool works best with long and skinny vegetables like zucchini and carrots.

3. Spiralizing Machine: I picked up my spiralizing machine for around $20. This allows you to turn any shaped veggie into thin spaghetti-like noodles. This will be the easiest way to make this Spiralized Sweet Potato Skillet!

A spiralizing machine can easily transform sweet potatoes into curly “noodles.” These thin noodles can be cooked in a skillet and topped with crispy bacon and Litehouse Chunky Blue Cheese for a delicious side dish alongside this Herb Roasted Chicken.

According to Medical News today, “Sweet potatoes pack a powerful nutritional punch. They have got over 400% of your daily needs for vitamin A in one medium spud, as well as loads of fiber and potassium. They have got more grams of natural sugars than regular potato but more overall nutrients with fewer calories. Have you tried spiralized veggies?

This nutrition information is all the more reason to try our favorite Litehouse sweet potato recipes!
