Greek Hamburgers Take Tailgating to a New Level

Fall temperatures have now set in. The boots and sweaters have been pulled out of my closet and all of my scarves have been hung. And while most people have also pulled out their favorite football jerseys, I have a small confession to make. I do not like football. Cue the outrage. No really, I’m used to it.
I know what you’re going to say, just give it a chance. I’ve given it quite a few chances to captivate my attention and it just has not. And while I may not be a huge fan of the sport, I am a huge fan of the pre-sport. What I mean by this is that I am a huge fan of tailgating. Friends getting together and celebrating over food and beer actually does get me excited and while I am a big fan of the traditional brats, hamburgers and beer there is nothing stopping me (or you) from making tailgating a little more gourmet. Hamburgers are a great tailgating food and staple. They are quick and easy to grill up, top with cheese and devour. However, if you ever happen to attend one of my tailgates, things tend to get a little bit fancy. I now present you with Greek hamburgers. Mixing together your ground beef with a few extra ingredients still keeps the meal quick but adds a new degree of flavor to your tailgate. I tossed some kalamata olives, Litehouse Feta Cheese Crumbles, Litehouse Instantly Fresh Red Onion and Oregano in with my meat to give the burgers a Mediterranean flair. The cheese and olives are salty enough so you won’t need any additional seasonings. What really inspired these burgers was the all new OPA Feta Dill dressing from Litehouse. This Greek yogurt dressing made the perfect topping for my burgers. I also decided to test the dressing as a dip for my potato chips, and it was amazing. And then I pulled out carrot sticks to dip. And then I had to stop myself from eating the entire jar. It’s really that good.

My overall point is that you can celebrate football season with a tailgate that is anything but traditional. Why not inspire your friends with some new flavors and grilled creations? I encourage you to take your tailgating to a new level this year!
