Bacon Caramel Apple Baked Brie

It’s true, everything makes bacon better. Bacon is quite becoming on a burger and so beckoning on a pile of scrambled eggs. And, who wouldn’t have big love for little shrimp wrapped in bacon?! Even number-crunching data geeks at have confirmed that recipes featuring the word bacon in the title are indeed “better” as evidenced by higher ratings on cooking websites. Today, I’m sharing a better baked brie recipe featuring all my favorite fall-flavors such as caramel and apples — and bacon!

Bacon aside, it’s pretty hard to dismiss the merits of caramel and apples paired up together. This delicious duo conjures up images of crisp air, hayrides and sweet family gatherings. Of all the mouthwatering caramel dip varieties from Litehouse Foods, you can’t go wrong with the Old-Fashioned Caramel Dip – this sweet buttery awesomesauce tastes just the way grandmother’s secret recipe did. The technique is easy yet elegant, simple yet stunning and can be served with a focus on sweet, savory or both like my bacon-makes-everything better version. Use an oven-safe baking dish or skillet and top the brie with only three basic ingredients – after a short baking time you will be rewarded with ooy-gooey, salty-sweet melted cheese that can be spread on crackers, bread or apple slices. Bacon Caramel Apple Baked Brie Recipe

Finish in 20 Minutes


1 8 oz. wheel of brie cheese
½ cup Old-Fashioned Caramel Dip from Litehouse Foods
6 slices of bacon
cooked and crumbled
½ cup chopped dried apples


Preheat oven to 425 F.
Slice top rind off brie and place rind side down in oven proof baking dish that is approximately 1 to 2” wider than the cheese wheel.
Top with caramel, bacon and apples.
Place in hot oven and bake for 12 – 15 minutes, or until caramel is bubbling and cheese has melted.
