20 Minute Creamy French Onion Chicken

I’m always on the hunt for quick and easy meals. If I am able to cook dinner in thirty minutes or less, I consider that a success. I love cooking, but as a busy mom, I just can’t spend hours in the kitchen every day.

Our family recently grew in size and amidst the added craziness, there is even more of an importance for date night. My husband and I can’t go out on dates as often as I’d like now with three kids, but I’ve grown to value that time after bedtime. After the kids go to bed, it’s easy to have an in-home “date.” I think we all know date nights are important, but did you know there are actually studies done on this very topic? An interesting study by the University of Virginia shows the value and importance of having regular date nights. I love how many of the other Litehouse bloggers have created the perfect date night meals and appetizers. Just like cooking for my family, when my husband and I have our date night meals, I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. This creamy French onion chicken over pasta is done in just twenty minutes, leaving plenty of time for good wine and good conversation.

Using Litehouse dips in chicken dishes is a way to easily add flavor. One of my favorite meals is still this Dilly Dip Baked Chicken with Greek Salsa I first made last summer (which could be another good date night recipe option)! This French onion chicken uses the Litehouse French Onion dip to make a creamy sauce. The sauce over pasta is delicious! This recipe only serves two- intended for your own date night, but you can easily double or triple the recipe to suit your family size.
